Well, hey there!
I grew up in an artistic family. With a mother & a grandfather that love photography, I naturally fell in love with the art of capturing photos. I first began shooting with my grandpa's old 35mm film camera just for fun, but I never dreamed that I would later make photography a career.
It wasn't until college that I discovered my passion for photography. Since then I have been working to use natural lighting & composition to capture photos of genuine, loving interactions between people. My goal as a photographer is to provide people with visual memories to treasure in the years to come, & I am truly blessed to be given the opportunity to meet & photograph such wonderful people. My absolute favorite thing is walking away from a shoot feeling like I could be best friends with my clients.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
I absolutely love that I come from a family that finds value in documenting life. Our shared love for tangible memories has helped me understand that my love for photography isn't just some random interest; but a passion that I share with so many loved ones from my past & present. Every time I see my grandpa, the first thing we do is sit down and look through all of the photos he has taken since I saw him last; and every time I visit, grandma plops a box of old photos in front of me that I've never seen before. Sitting around the dinner table with my grandparents looking at old photos and hearing the stories behind them -- I cherish these moments with every fiber of my being. These people are my "why."
My life consists of an amazing husband, being a foster/adoptive mama to three beautiful little girls and spending time together outside or on the couch watching movies. Before jumping head on into the photography life, I taught Art K-12 in small town Nebraska, & I loved every second of it! I would not trade that experience for the world, but am so excited for this photography journey that I am on.
